We're a homegrown home inspection company with local expertise and a great reputation. We're a locally-owned company. We're not a franchise and we're not a "branch office" of some far-off national chain.
Our inspections not only meet ASHI standards, they exceed them in every way. Our clients want more so we give them more. We use the ASHI Standards as a starting point - our inspection exceeds those standards because our clients want more. We've performed thousands of inspections and our clients seem to appreciate what we do for them.

Let me tell you a little about HomePro President, Peter Drenan:
"It's cliché to say 'Home is where the hearth is' but its true. Home ownership touches the lives of every family. Buying a new home is a deeply personal and very expensive proposition. That's where we can be the most help. That's where I wanted to spend my time."
Peter has a degree in Architecture from NC State University; He started his own design/build business in the early 1980s in the NC mountains. Peter moved to Charlottesville almost 20 years ago, and began working at the University of Virginia; He was a senior project manager the person totally responsible for getting buildings built. He was responsible for over $500 million dollars worth of design, planning and construction at the University! Peter left the University in 1993 to start a consulting business and to do inspections. HomePro was created in 1994 and has performed thousands of inspection locally. HomePro also does building inspections for the US Navy, US Marines, and the US State Dept.
Over the years, Peter has become certified in a variety of related fields that add to the technical depth and breadth of his home inspecting skills. To date, Peter is certified in all of the following:

- Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) - Radon Testing Certification
- National Environmental Health Association (NEHA) - Radon Testing Certification

And now a little bit about Valley HomePro President Bob Waite:
Bob is a Registered Architect and is a member of the American Institute of Architects (AIA). Bob got his degree in architecture from the University of Virginia, so he's been around here for a while. He worked for several local architects in and around Charlottesville, designing and managing custom home construction projects. With a background that includes being a carpenter, Bob was a natural at overseeing residential construction projects.
Bob went to work for the University of Virginia Health Sciences Center in 1987, as a project manager in charge of construction and design projects. As a Senior Project Manager, Bob managed major construction projects from design to completion for the University. Bob and his family moved to the Shenandoah Valley when his wife became a professor at Bridgewater College. Bob also served as a Senior Project Manager at James Madison University. In fact, Bob was the person responsible for planning, designing and implementing an entire new high-tech campus at JMU. Bob was responsible for the planning, design and construction of over 500 million dollars worth of State construction projects! Finally, Bob left the State employment ranks and joined HomePro in 1999. He brings a wealth of experience and skills, but mostly he brings the dedication that has always made him successful. |
